答：基督在祂的生活中謙卑自己，是在於：
（1）祂自己順服律法（加4:4），完美地成全律法（太5:17；羅5:19）；
（2）並且面對世上的各樣侮辱（詩22:6；來12:2－3），撒但的試探（太4:1－12；路4:13），自 己肉身的軟弱，這些或是常見於人的性情，或是特別與祂的降卑狀態相伴（來2:17－18；4:15；賽52:13－14）。

太4:1-12 當時，耶穌被聖靈引到曠野，受魔鬼的試探。他禁食四十晝夜，後來就餓了。那試探人的進前來，對他說：「你若是 神的兒子，可以吩咐這些石頭變成食物。」 耶穌卻回答說：「經上記著說：『人活著，不是單靠食物，乃是靠 神口裡所出的一切話。』」魔鬼就帶他進了聖城，叫他站在殿頂上(「頂」原文作「翅」)，對他說：「你若是 神的兒子，可以跳下去，因為經上記著說：『主要為你吩咐他的使者，用手托著你，免得你的腳碰在石頭上。』」耶穌對他說：「經上又記著說：『不可試探主你的 神。』」魔鬼又帶他上了一座最高的山，將世上的萬國與萬國的榮華都指給他看，對他說：「你若俯伏拜我，我就把這一切都賜給你。」耶穌說：「撒但退去吧(「撒但」就是「抵擋」的意思，乃魔鬼的別名。)；因為經上記著說：『當拜主你的 神，單要事奉他。』」於是魔鬼離了耶穌；有天使來伺候他。耶穌聽見約翰下了監，就退到加利利去；
路4:13 魔鬼用完了各樣的試探，就暫時離開耶穌。
來2:17-18 所以他凡事該與他的弟兄相同，為要在 神的事上，成為慈悲忠信的大祭司，為百姓的罪獻上挽回祭。他自己既然被試探而受苦，就能搭救被試探的人。
來4:15 因我們的大祭司並非不能體恤我們的軟弱；他也曾凡事受過試探，與我們一樣，只是他沒有犯罪。
