答：在第一条诫命中说“在我面前”，这些话语教导我们，
（1） 无所不见的上帝特别注意到人另有别神之罪，大为不悦；
（2） 因此劝阻人脱离此罪，视此罪为放肆的挑衅，使其更显严重（结8:5－6；诗44:20－21）。
（3） 同时，也使我们相信，不管从事何种服事，都是行在祂的眼前（代上28:9）。

答：第一诫命中“除了我以外”或“在我面前”要教导我们：上帝鉴察万事万物，特别注意人们犯“有别神”的罪，对此罪大为不悦。所以，“除了我以外”或“在我面前”此句话是用来阻止我们犯此罪，强调此罪的严重，是最卑劣的惹祂愤怒之罪；此句话也劝服我们在祂面前行事为人，所作的一切都是事奉祂。
