第十四章 論得救的信心

一、信心的恩惠乃是基督的靈在蒙神揀選之人心中所作的工1，使他們相信以致靈魂得救 2；這信心是通常由聽神的道而發生的 3，而且借着神道的宣揚，聖禮的執行和祈禱而得增長並堅固 4。
二、藉此信心，基督徒相信凡在聖經中所啟示的都為真實，因為神自己的權威在其中說話 5，又當按照聖經中各段章節所說的去行。既順服其命令 6，畏懼其警戒 7，持守神在其中所賜為今生和來生的應許 8。但得救信心的主要活動乃是憑恩典之約，惟獨接受並依靠基督而得稱義、成聖，和永生 9。
三、此信心的程度不同，或強或弱 10，雖多次多方受打擊，被挫折，但終必得勝 11；並在多人裏面增長，以致借那為我們信心創始成終的基督 12獲得充足的信心 13。

第十四章 論得救的信心
一．信心的美德是基督之靈在選民心裏的工作（林後4:13；弗1:17-19；2:8），使他們能夠信而得救（來10:39），這信心通常是借着聽道而成（羅10:14，17），並借着聖道的宣講、聖禮的施行和祈禱，得以增加並鞏固（彼前2:2；徒20:32；羅 4:11；路17:5；羅1:16，17）。
二．藉此信心，基督徒相信聖經中所啟示的都是真實可靠的，因為是上帝自己的權威在其中說話（約4:42；帖前2:13；約 壹5:10；徒24:14）。基督徒也藉此信心照着每段經 文所說的分別去行：服從其命令（羅16:26），因其警誡而戰 兢（賽66:2），並堅信上帝對今世來生的應許（來11:13；提前4:8）。但得救信心的主要活動，還在於使人因恩典之約，惟獨接受並信賴基督，以至於稱義，成聖，並承受永 生（約1:12； 徒16:31；加2:20；徒15:11）。
三． 這信心是程度不同，強弱不一的（來5:13-14;羅4:19-20;太6:30;8:10）；它可能屢次多方受打擊，被削弱，但終必得勝（路22:31-32；弗 6:16；約壹5:4-5）；它在許多人裏面不斷成長，直 到借着那為我們信心創始成終的基督（來12:2），獲得充足的確信（來6:11，12；10:22； 西2:2）。

CHAPTER 14 OF SAVING FAITH
1. The grace of faith, whereby the elect are enabled to believe to the saving of their souls, is the work of the Spirit of Christ in their hearts, and is ordinarily wrought by the ministry of the Word, by which also, and by the administration of the sacraments, and prayer, it is increased and strengthened.
2. By this faith, a Christian believeth to be true whatsoever is revealed in the Word, for the authority of God himself speaking therein; and acteth differently upon that which each particular passage thereof containeth; yielding obedience to the commands, trembling at the threatenings, and embracing the promises of God for this life, and that which is to come. But the principal acts of saving faith are accepting, receiving, and resting upon Christ alone for justification, sanctification, and eternal life, by virtue of the covenant of grace.
3. This faith is different in degrees, weak or strong; may be often and many ways assailed, and weakened, but gets the victory: growing up in many to the attainment of a full assurance, through Christ, who is both the author and finisher of our faith.

Of Saving Faith

帖前 2:13 為此，我們也不住地感謝 神，因你們聽見我們所傳 神的道，就領受了；不以為是人的道，乃以為是 神的道。這道實在是 神的，並且運行在你們信主的人心中。

來5:13-14 來 5:13 凡只能吃奶的，都不熟練仁義的道理，因為他是嬰孩； 來 5:14 惟獨長大成人的，才能吃乾糧，他們的心竅習練得通達，就能分辨好歹了。
羅4:19-20 羅 4:19 他將近百歲的時候，雖然想到自己的身體如同已死，撒拉的生育已經斷絕，他的信心還是不軟弱； 羅 4:20 並且仰望 神的應許，總沒有因不信心裏起疑惑，反倒因信心裏得堅固，將榮耀歸給 神。

弗 6:16 此外又拿着信德當作藤牌，可以滅盡那惡者一切的火箭；
約壹5:4-5 約一 5:4 因為凡從 神生的，就勝過世界；使我們勝了世界的，就是我們的信心。 約一 5:5 勝過世界的是誰呢？不是那信耶穌是 神兒子的嗎？
