威斯敏斯特信條第13章
第十三章 論成聖

一、凡蒙有效恩召而被重生的人，既在他們裡面創造新靈和新心，就更因基督的死與復活1，借着道並住在他們裡面的聖靈2，使他們個人實際成聖。罪身的權勢被毀壞3，屬乎肉身的各種情慾逐漸衰弱而被治死4，而且他們在一切得救之恩上越發活潑而得堅固5，以致得到實際的真聖潔，人非聖潔不能見主6。
二、此成聖之工雖是貫徹於整個人性之內7，但在今生不得完全。在每一部份之內仍有些腐敗性的殘餘存在8；因此（在信徒心中）常有繼續與不可和解的戰爭，情慾和聖靈相爭，聖靈和情慾相爭9。
三、在此戰爭中，那殘存的腐敗性雖一時甚占優勢10，然而那蒙神重生的部份，借着從基督成聖之靈所得不斷供應的能力，終必得勝11；如此聖徒在恩典中有長進12，敬畏神得以成聖13。

一．凡蒙有效恩召並重生的人，既在他們裡面有了新心和新靈被創造出 來，便借着基督的受死和復活（林前6:11；徒20:32；腓3:10；羅6:5，6），並祂那在他們裡面內住的 聖道和聖靈（約17:17；弗5:26 ；帖後2:13），進一步達到個人實際的成聖；罪在我們整個身上的權勢被除滅（羅6:6，14），此身的各種邪情私慾也逐漸被削弱、治死（加5:24；羅8:13），並且他們在一切與救恩相伴的美德上（西1:11；弗 3:16－19）越來越清醒、堅固，以致能夠行出真正的聖 潔來，因為人非聖潔就不能見主（林後7:1；來12:14）。
二． 這種成聖貫穿全人（帖5:23），但在今生仍不完 全；人的各個部分之中仍然存有某些敗壞的殘餘（約 壹1:10；羅7:18，23；腓3:12），從而，情慾與聖靈相爭，聖靈和情慾相爭，這種爭戰無法和解，持續一生（加5:17；彼前2:11）。
三． 在這一爭戰中，雖然敗壞的殘餘或許一時得勝（羅7:23），可是，靠着基督 那使人成聖的聖靈所不斷供給的力量，重生的部分終必得勝（羅6:14；約壹5:4；弗4:15，16）；因此，聖徒會在恩典中長進（彼後3:18；林後3:18），因着敬畏上帝，得以逐漸成聖（林後7:1）。

They, who are once effectually called, and regenerated, having a new heart, and a new spirit created in them, are further sanctified, really and personally, through the virtue of Christ's death and resurrection, by his Word and Spirit dwelling in them: the dominion of the whole body of sin is destroyed, and the several lusts thereof are more and more weakened and mortified; and they more and more quickened and strengthened in all saving graces, to the practice of true holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord.
2. This sanctification is throughout, in the whole man; yet imperfect in this life, there abiding still some remnants of corruption in every part; whence ariseth a continual and irreconcilable war, the flesh lusting against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh.
3. In which war, although the remaining corruption, for a time, may much prevail; yet, through the continual supply of strength from the sanctifying Spirit of Christ, the regenerate part doth overcome; and so, the saints grow in grace, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
