第十三章 论成圣

一、凡蒙有效恩召而被重生的人，既在他们里面创造新灵和新心，就更因基督的死与复活1，借着道并住在他们里面的圣灵2，使他们个人实际成圣。罪身的权势被毁坏3，属乎肉身的各种情欲逐渐衰弱而被治死4，而且他们在一切得救之恩上越发活泼而得坚固5，以致得到实际的真圣洁，人非圣洁不能见主6。
二、此成圣之工虽是贯彻于整个人性之内7，但在今生不得完全。在每一部份之内仍有些腐败性的残余存在8；因此（在信徒心中）常有继续与不可和解的战争，情欲和圣灵相争，圣灵和情欲相争9。
三、在此战争中，那残存的腐败性虽一时甚占优势10，然而那蒙神重生的部份，借着从基督成圣之灵所得不断供应的能力，终必得胜11；如此圣徒在恩典中有长进12，敬畏神得以成圣13。

一．凡蒙有效恩召并重生的人，既在他们里面有了新心和新灵被创造出 来，便借着基督的受死和复活（林前6:11；徒20:32；腓3:10；罗6:5，6），并祂那在他们里面内住的 圣道和圣灵（约17:17；弗5:26 ；帖后2:13），进一步达到个人实际的成圣；罪在我们整个身上的权势被除灭（罗6:6，14），此身的各种邪情私欲也逐渐被削弱、治死（加5:24；罗8:13），并且他们在一切与救恩相伴的美德上（西1:11；弗 3:16－19）越来越清醒、坚固，以致能够行出真正的圣 洁来，因为人非圣洁就不能见主（林后7:1；来12:14）。
二． 这种成圣贯穿全人（帖5:23），但在今生仍不完 全；人的各个部分之中仍然存有某些败坏的残余（约 壹1:10；罗7:18，23；腓3:12），从而，情欲与圣灵相争，圣灵和情欲相争，这种争战无法和解，持续一生（加5:17；彼前2:11）。
三． 在这一争战中，虽然败坏的残余或许一时得胜（罗7:23），可是，靠着基督 那使人成圣的圣灵所不断供给的力量，重生的部分终必得胜（罗6:14；约壹5:4；弗4:15，16）；因此，圣徒会在恩典中长进（彼后3:18；林后3:18），因着敬畏上帝，得以逐渐成圣（林后7:1）。

13.3 在這場爭戰中，那殘存的敗壞罪性雖然可能暫時甚佔優勢，但是基督的靈使人成聖，不斷加力量給那重生的生命，新人靠這力量必定得勝﹔所以聖徒在恩典中長進，敬畏上帝得以在聖潔上長進，漸臻完全。

They, who are once effectually called, and regenerated, having a new heart, and a new spirit created in them, are further sanctified, really and personally, through the virtue of Christ's death and resurrection, by his Word and Spirit dwelling in them: the dominion of the whole body of sin is destroyed, and the several lusts thereof are more and more weakened and mortified; and they more and more quickened and strengthened in all saving graces, to the practice of true holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord.
2. This sanctification is throughout, in the whole man; yet imperfect in this life, there abiding still some remnants of corruption in every part; whence ariseth a continual and irreconcilable war, the flesh lusting against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh.
3. In which war, although the remaining corruption, for a time, may much prevail; yet, through the continual supply of strength from the sanctifying Spirit of Christ, the regenerate part doth overcome; and so, the saints grow in grace, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

[7] 1TH 5:23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
