問3：聖經主要教導的是什麼？

答：聖經主要教導的就是人對於神所當信的真理，和神所要人當盡的本分。

Q. 3. What do the scriptures principally teach?

A. The scriptures principally teach what man is to believe concerning God, and what duty God requires of man.

略解：為了達到我們生活的主要本分，有兩件事必須知道：我們該信什麼？我們該作什麼？這兩件事，聖經都為我們解釋得十分清楚，告訴我們神是怎樣的神，他曾為我們作了什麼，他吩咐我們作什麼，對我們現在與未來都有好處。

答：新舊約聖經就是神的聖道，是信仰與順服的唯一準則。

答：聖經顯明自己是神的道，是借着：

（1）文體莊嚴偉大，教義純正清潔；內容各部分的合一，範圍的整全，都是要將一切榮耀歸於上帝；

（2）聖經的亮光與權能，勸服罪人認罪悔改；安慰建立信徒，以致得救到底；

（3）然而，唯有上帝的聖靈，借着聖經與伴隨聖經，在人心中所作的見證，才能使人完全確信聖經就是上帝的道。
