问110:第二诫命列举甚么理由,使我们更要遵行它?
答:第二诫命所列举的理由,使我们更要遵行它,是包含在以下的话:“因为我耶和华你的上帝,是忌邪的上帝,恨我的,我必追讨他的罪,自父及子,直到三四代;爱我守我诫命的,我必向他们发慈爱,直到千代”。
(1)上帝的主权在我们之上,我们属于祂;祂为属于祂的崇拜极其热心,祂恨恶一切虚假的崇拜,因为这些是属灵方面的淫乱,必遭致祂的义怒刑罚;
(2)祂将凡违背此诫命者,视为恨祂的;祂警告必追讨他们的罪,直到数代;
(3)祂将凡遵行此诫命者,视为爱祂守祂诫命的;祂应许赐怜悯给他们,直到许多代。

A. The reasons annexed to the second commandment, the more to enforce it, contained in these words, For I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; and shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments; are, besides God's sovereignty over us, and propriety in us, his fervent zeal for his own worship, and his revengeful indignation against all false worship, as being a spiritual whoredom; accounting the breakers of this commandment such as hate him, and threatening to punish them unto divers generations; and esteeming the observers of it such as love him and keep his commandments, and promising mercy to them unto many generations.

答:第三诫命要求的责任是:
(1)在我们的思念,默想,言话,写作中,都要以圣洁敬畏的态度来称上帝的名字,名号,属性,典章,圣道,圣礼,祷告,起誓,许愿,摇签,祂的作为,和一切祂藉以显明祂自己的事物;
(2)我们要以圣洁的态度宣告信仰,负责的言语交谈,使荣耀归于上帝,使我们与他人都得益处。

The third commandment requires, that the name of God, his titles, attributes, ordinances, the word, sacraments, prayer, oaths, vows, lots, his works, and whatsoever else there is whereby he makes himself known, be holily and reverently used in thought, meditation, word, and writing; by an holy profession, and answerable conversation, to the glory of God, and the good of ourselves, and others.
