Verses 1–7

第1–7節

The holy God hates sin most in thosenearest to him. A sinful state is, and will be, a woful state. Yet they had thetokens of God's presence, and all the advantages of knowing his will, with thestrongest reasons to do it; still they persisted in disobedience. Alas, thatmen often are more active in doing wickedness than believers are in doing good.

那些離上帝最近卻又犯罪的人是上帝所最憎惡的。一個有罪的國度就是(將是)一個悲痛的國度。他們曉得耶和華在他們中間,且知道通曉耶和華意念所得的福分,且他們有足夠的理由來通曉這一切;然而他們依然褻瀆耶和華之律法。悲哀啊,與信徒們傾向於行公義之事相比,他們在行邪惡之事上更為活躍。


Verses 8–13

第8–13節

The preaching of the gospel is predicted,when vengeance would be executed on the Jewish nation. The purifying doctrinesof the gospel, or the pure language of the grace of the Lord, would teach mento use the language of humility, repentance, and faith. Purity and piety incommon conversation is good. The pure and happy state of the church in thelatter days seems intended. The Lord will shut out boasting, and leave mennothing to glory in, save the Lord Jesus, as made of God to them wisdom,righteousness, sanctification, and redemption. Humiliation for sin, andobligations to the Redeemer, will make true believers upright and sincere,whatever may be the case among mere professors.

Verses 14–20

第14–20節

After the promises of taking away sin,follow promises of taking away trouble. When the cause is removed, the effectwill cease. What makes a people holy, will make them happy. The preciouspromises made to the purified people, were to have full accomplishment in thegospel. These verses appear chiefly to relate to the future conversion andrestoration of Israel, and the glorious times which are to follow. They showthe abundant peace, comfort, and prosperity of the church, in the happy timesyet to come. He will save; he will be Jesus; he will answer the name, for hewill save his people from their sins. Before the glorious times foretold,believers would be sorrowful, and objects of reproach. But the Lord will savethe weakest believer, and cause true Christians to be greatly honoured wherethey had been treated with contempt. One act of mercy and grace shall serve,both to gather Israel out of their dispersions and to lead them to their ownland. Then will God's Israel be made a name and a praise to eternity. Theevents alone can fully answer the language of this prophecy. Many are thetroubles of the righteous, but they may rejoice in God's love. Surely ourhearts should honour the Lord, and rejoice in him, when we hear such words ofcondescension and grace. If now kept from his ordinances, it is our trial andgrief; but in due time we shall be gathered into his temple above. The gloryand happiness of the believer will be perfect, unchangeable, and eternal, whenhe is freed from earthly sorrows, and brought to heavenly bliss.

耶和華免除了刑罰,也趕走了災禍,這些應許均已實現。當起因被剪除後,隨之而致的後果也將結束。讓人變聖潔的東西也會讓人幸福。當這些寶貴的應許臨到純淨之人時,福音也就被完全成就了。這幾節經文主要與未來的信仰轉變、以色列復國以及隨之而來的恩典時代有關。從中可看出恩典時代來臨之後教堂中充滿的豐盛的平安,祥和和繁榮。祂將大施拯救,祂就是耶穌,祂將顯明他名字的含義,因為祂將把他的民從罪中拯救出來。在預言此榮耀時刻之前,信徒們須經受悲傷,遭受恥辱。但是上帝必拯救柔弱的信徒,讓真正的基督徒在他們受蔑視的地方得極大的榮耀。耶和華施行憐憫和恩典的一個舉動是讓分散的以色列人聚集並領他們回到他們的國。此後,上帝之國—以色列將在萬民中有名聲,得稱讚。這些事本身便是對上帝預言的回答。很多人因公義而受苦,但他們將在上帝的愛里得到歡樂。當我們聽到謙卑和恩典之福音時,我們的心當稱頌上帝,當在主裏面喜樂。如果現在我們還不能得到這喜樂,說面我們正接受試驗和遭遇不幸;但在適當的時候,我們將聚集在他的大殿中。當信徒脫離塵世的悲傷而進入到天國的福祉時,將享受永恆不變的最美好的榮耀和喜樂。
